What is ChatGPT?

它是一种大型的语言模型，通过深度学习，可以理解和生成自然语言，比如说可以回答问题、完成句子、生成文本。以后的应用场景比如说智能客服、聊天机器人、文本生成和自然语言处理等等。

It is a large language model that, through deep learning, can understand and generate natural language, for example to answer questions, complete sentences and generate text. Future application scenarios such as intelligent customer service, chatbots, text generation and natural language processing, to name a few.

今天的案例是​：关于丽江的英文输出的中文单词（带拼音）​。

Today's case study: Chinese words (with pinyin) for English output about Lijiang.

这个例子中它的拼音加的​不错，可以很快知道这些​词汇的中文发音。

In this example it has a good addition of pinyin and you can quickly know the Chinese pronunciation of these words.

当然，它依旧存在问题，比如拼音没有分词，就算是上述的情况，作为中文老师，要小心辨别，因为出错率还是有的。比如说会弄错情况，它有时只是单纯地弄错了东西。你可以纠正它，它也会欣然承认并纠正其错误，但可能根本没有意识到这个错误的存在。

Of course, it still has problems, such as the fact that the pinyin is not segmented into words. In the above cases, even as a Chinese teacher, you have to be careful to correctly segment them, because it’s easy to make mistakes. But also, ChatGPT sometimes simply gets things wrong. You can correct it and it will readily admit and correct its mistake, but you may not even realize that the mistake exists.

第一段生日祝福还比较正常，第二段让它改写成口语版，就开始不对了。所以如果是类似生日祝福的文案，在ChatGPT写好以后，最好要拿给母语者再确认一遍，本是令人高兴的事儿，现在闹出乌龙就不好了。

The first birthday wish was relatively normal, but in the second one,  after making it rewrite it into the spoken version, it started to go wrong. So for something like a birthday wish, it's still a good idea to take it to a native speaker to double check after ChatGPT is done. You wound’t want to make a mess of your best wishes on a happy occasion.
