A2 Pronunciation Test
A2 Pronunciation Test
If you’re an elementary (A2) learner, and you know your pinyin and (kinda) know your tones, this online test will give you the additional feedback you need on where to focus your efforts.
Are You Plagued by the Most Common Pronunciation Issues?
We know what pronunciation struggles elementary learners faced. We’ve created the Chinese Pronunciation Wiki to help learners everywhere, but sometimes there’s simply no substitute for direct feedback. This test is at the A2 (elementary) level, so it covers both tricky consonants and vowels as well as tones.
Sounds the A2 (Elementary) Pronunciation Test covers:
Tough Sounds (basic): c-, z-, s-sh-, c-ch-, z-zh-, x-sh-, q-ch-, j-zh-, r-, -an-ang, -e, -ou-uo, -ü-u, -un
Tone Change Rules: consecutive third tones, 不 (bù), and 一 (yī)
In a combination of simple reading and speaking exercises, we do an analysis of which A2 issues a learner needs to pay attention to.
What You’ll Get
One 10-minute video interview
A series of pronunciation exercises, provided in advance

We recommend Zoom for our video call, as it has superior built-in video recording. (We need the video to conduct our analysis, and we provide it to you as well. We do not share it publicly or privately with others.)
